This is a solo guitar record with no overdubs, and very little effects or processing. Without intending it, much of this record was heavily influenced by pianists. I was thinking a lot about solo records from Craig Taborn and David Virelles, solo recordings by Bud Powell, and McCoy Tyner. It’s also the first studio recording of me playing Hindustani Classical Music (or a more inclusive term, raga music). I get so wrapped up in documenting my compositions that I realized there isn’t much on record for some other things I do, like my solo guitar practice. I learned a lot making it, and hope you enjoy.
